On 9/11, I went to church and fell in love with my church choir. I decided to contact the director and auditioned last 9/20. I made it :)
Yes..I'm officially a parishioner in a Newport Catholic Church and a new Gleek member. I went to my first rehearsal last week and was overwhelmed by over 35 members. Many are in their late 50s and 60s and half were also around or young than my age. The songs they picked for this week were so harmoniously beautiful...It felt so good to be back in tune with my roots.
Why? People think I'm crazy but I'm doing it to keep closer to my own faith. There is nothing wrong with finding your own sense of spirituality. Besides...it reminds of my early childhood years.....a routine, new friends, a different enlightenment.
I was informed that I will be singing at this year's midnight mass..i'm so excited..Christmas now has a new meaning for me this 2011 :) My family will be watching..
