It's been almost 3 years since we went last on a family camping trip. The last one left a bitter memory with many of us so a break was much needed.
This year we decided to go east and visit the Grand Canyon. It's my fourth time but I am glad to have been able to show my family one of the most amazing places I have been.
By now we were pros. This would have been our 4th camping trip and I must say we are getting quite proficient with tent set-up/set down and packing. This is the first time where we actually didn't bring much in way of food. It was a long trip but relaxing.
How is different:
1. We're officially an extended family of 6 - with Sing on board..
2. We're all grown-up, everyone had something to contribute to the planning of the trip - sigh of relief for me
3. My parents are a lot more easy going..
Report Card:
1. Everyone did a 7 mile hike/walk down the Bright Angel including my parents. This hike included 125 degree heat and a couple of thunderstorms
2. No fights - except a mini one at the end - but all is good - just the heat and hormones combined in one
3. Another checklist on the list of national park/state that we've visited
Next stop: Zion National Park, May 2012
