It's the evening for Thanksgiving. As I pulled into my driveway, spots are empty. I look outside my balcony, many are walking to their cars with a bottle of wine or a bag with food. Everyone is going to some dinner. Little miss social me might have to do dinner on my own.
Earlier, I was working at a coffee shop and ran across a neighbor and talked with him with envy. His daughter was with him. After all, it's Thanksgiving.
Years ago, I would have been on a plane to the east coast and would have been waiting for a bus from Port Authority in New York getting ready for thanksgiving with the bf's family. God I miss that.
What a glorious day. Heck..what a glorious week. I got to visit an old neighbor and turned out that I'll be working with him for a long time. I also had a great dinner with some girlfriends from the past.
I decided to get up and work at our clubhouse today for some coffee. Everyone seem cheerful...thankful. I did my first contract partner training today and it went well. I got to see my old co-workers for lunch and my ex roommate from Stanton. I also treated myself to a good lunch and to perhaps the best hot chocolate from Peet's coffee..wow
So did I choose to be by myself tonight? Perhaps...I don't know anymore. Another holiday...alone. I bought a Turkey. It might have to stay frozen for the rest of the year.
This is collection of a few life lessons. I represent both someone who possess endless strengths and inconsolable sadness. You will see a woman who was made to feel shame for her desires and yet had the courage to pursue them anyway. At 23, I thought I found Elizabeth. Now at 35, I long to rediscover her again.
